HOW DOES YOUR CONSIGNMENT PROCESS WORK?

It’s easy! Send us an email to thesolidago@gmail.com or call Maryam at +1 (612) 636-3767 so that we can learn more about what you’d like to sell. If it sounds like the right product for Solidago, then we will email you a UPS label so that you can ship us a box at your earliest convenience. (Or if you live in the area, we make house calls!) We will use a variety of methods to sell your goods, including listing on eBay and Vaunte, as well as holding private, exclusive shopping events! 

 

WHAT TYPES OF ITEMS CAN WE CONSIGN?

We will gladly accept your new or gently worn clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and accessories. We sell all sizes of women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing. Items must have a minimum original retail value of $50. We have recently expanded to include selected home goods, too. Please contact us for further information. 

We sell high-end luxury designer and contemporary brands. If you are consigning valuable items, then are willing to take your lower priced brands (i.e. J.Crew or Club Monaco) as a bonus, as long as the items are current within the last few seasons. Remember that brand names always sell best, so if you’re interested in sending us lesser known, up-and-coming labels, please be sure to discuss this with us prior to shipping so that we can determine if there is any demand in the market for those brands, regardless of their original prices.

 

WHAT CONDITION MUST MY ITEMS BE IN? 

Please only send us new or gently worn (and clean) items. We cannot accept merchandise that is damaged or needs any type of repairs (i.e. no stains, broken zippers, rips, missing buttons, etcetera). We are sometimes willing to make an exception to this rule if the item is Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, or similar.  

 

MUST MY ITEMS BE IN-SEASON?

Nope! We will accept items regardless of the current selling season.

 

WILL YOU AUTHENTICATE MY HIGH-END GOODS?

Absolutely. We are experts, and we only sell 100% authentic items.

 

HOW WILL YOU DETERMINE A SALES PRICE? 

The current market is the best indicator of what we can sell your item for. To be comparable with what’s out there, we do our research. For example, when we use eBay, we search the items for sale and items sold to come up with the best auction starting price. 

 

HOW MUCH WILL I GET PAID? WHEN WILL I GET PAID? HOW WILL I GET PAID? 

Our split is 50/50, meaning that you will receive 50% of the total sales price. We will pay you by check or Paypal on the 15th of the month for items sold the previous month. We are happy to email you an itemized sales invoice upon request.

 

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY UNSOLD ITEMS?

We will hold onto your items in our warehouse for up to 6 months. After that, you can decide if you would like us to ship unsold items back to you (at your expense), or we will make a donation and send you a donation receipt for your records. 

 

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE SOLIDAGO? 

A “solidago” is a type of flower often used in homeopathic treatments. We are an organically grown business that promotes the recycling and reuse of designer clothing, which was meant to last for generations. We are small enough to build one-on-one relationships with each of our clients, yet large enough to reach a worldwide audience.

DO ALL ITEMS NEED TO HAVE ORIGINAL TAGS ATTACHED?

Items that are new with tags are always appealing to the purchaser. But no, it is not necessary.

Yes.

We understand that you paid a certain wholesale price and that you were retailing the goods for a certain markup. However, consignment pricing is based on a number of factors, and the current resale market is the best indicator of what we can sell your items for. To be comparable with what’s out there, we do our research. For example, when we use eBay, we search for sale and items sold to come up with the best auction starting price.

Our split is 60/40, meaning that you will receive 40% of the total sales price. We will pay you by check or PayPal on the 15th of the month for items sold the previous month. We are happy to email you an itemized sales invoice upon request.
